Workers’ Comp Insurance: Should Employers Have A Choice?

Many states are considering altering the workers’ compensation landscape by allowing employers to “opt out” of mandatory work injury coverage for employees. Concerns arise over whether acceptable benefits would be provided to injured workers, who would still be barred from bringing any legal action against their employers for negligence or other claims related to an on the job injury.

The current trend toward denying injured workers’ claims underscores the need for those injured on the job to retain an experienced workers’ compensation attorney to provide guidance and options, and take legal action if necessary.
